Cymric Cat
History/Profile of Cymric Cat
The Cymric cats are native to the Isle of Man, but under the
breeding program originated from Canada and are related to Manian cats. They
are obtained by sampling kittens with certain features from a litter of Manx
cats, and the feature is long and half-long wool. In addition, it is possible
to note the lack of a tail, as well as pets from the Isle of Man. Yes, that's
right, the Cymric cats are tailless. Although, by and large, they still have a
small tail.
The name of cats comes from the word in Gaelic, meaning
Wales. It is believed that the Cymrics appeared as a result of mating Norwegian
forest cats and Mansky but there is no proof of proof. The Cymric
cat is a controversial breed, as many world enological organizations do not
recognize it as an independent. However, others, on the contrary, recognized the Cymrics in 1990.

Description
Cats breed Cymric is a pet size a little more than average,
largely due to the abundance of wool. They have round snouts, rounded tip of
the tail, rounded paws, and in general, it can be said that all their outlines
differ in smooth lines. There is a lot of all sorts of colors of these cats.
They are very attached to their family, but sometimes want
to be alone. Clever and strong, like to play even in adulthood. They can hunt,
and generally show different kinds of activity especially if they live in a private
house with a garden. They live on average of 8-14 years.
Personality
These are kind and playful animals that are happy to give
their tenderness and love. The Cymric cat is playful and loves it when the
owner takes part in her entertainment, although it is not of absolute
character. Not only that, Cymric always has his favorite toys that he -
attention - likes to carry with him. Unusual, isn't it?
These cats are very touching, they like to "talk"
quietly, using all the variety of intonations. But it rarely turns into
unpleasant whimsical cries, more often, it is a soulful conversation with
family members. Cat breed Cymric has a flexible mind and is very smart, so
close the cupboards and doors tightly. However, in some cases, even this does
not help, as these cats can sometimes even open the latch.
Cymric can single out a particular person among family
members as his "principal" master. It is this person who will receive
all the love and affection on an unlimited scale and enjoy the greatest authority.
But there are many individuals who give each of the family members equally. It
is impossible to predict how the cat's personality will develop here.
In general, Cymrics well perceive children, but until the
child begins to treat the cat as a toy. Other pets usually have no problems.
Cats do not express isolation towards strangers.
Common
diseases
The health of Cymrics cannot be called excellent - there
are a number of problems that can arise in your pet without your guilt. That
is, these are genetic tendencies, including:
- coccyx arthritis is most common in cats that have a small partially formed tail;
- corneal dystrophy, most commonly observed in kittens over four months old;
- a combination of several birth defects called Mans syndrome includes problems with the intestines, digestion, and urinary tracts. It is observed in about one-third of the population of Cymrics.
Since many health problems begin to occur from the age of
four months, it is not necessary to buy younger kittens.
Care
The length of wool and molting implies careful and regular
combing, with the neat removal of lumps of wool. You also need to: brush your
teeth (better every day), ears (once a week or as needed); cut the claws (2-4
times a month), bathe the cat (on average it should be done once every one or
two months, but it is possible and more often, the role plays molt and living
conditions of the pet).
