Toybob Cat
History of toybob
The toybob cat breed is relatively new, and the history of
its origin began back in 1983, even before the collapse of the Soviet Union. It
all began with the fact that the breeder, engaged in breeding cats of the Thai
bob breed, found a bottomless Siamese cat with a short tail on the street. He
crossed it with a Thai bob and ended up with kittens with very short tails. He
called the first such kitten "kutsyy".
However, until 1990, there is no information about the
breed, and only in the nineties, did its purposeful breeding begins. In 1990, the
Toybob breed was registered in two Russian cat associations, however, it was
then called differently - "Skif-Tai-dong". In 1994, WCF judge Olga
Sergeevna Mironova renamed the Scythian-Tai-Don to the Toybob breed. We can say
that it was she who became the author of the name.
In the late nineties, the owner of the Cattery Si-Savat,
Alexei Abramchuk, decided to expand the gene pool of the breed, and for some
time was engaged in breeding these cats. A few years later, the business was
continued by Natalia Fedyaeva, the owner of the Little Angel kennel. She
crossed toybobs with domestic cats that had the same phenotype, however,
toybobs were also raised in the Rostov region. To distinguish her pets from
Rostov, she added the word Scythian to the name of the breed.
The Toybob cat breed came to the United States in 2004 -
several individuals were brought to the country by a breeder of Burmese cats.
After 4 years, namely in 2008, the breed received experimental status in the
register of the International Cat Association (TICA). In 2017, the breed was
adopted by TICA and registered as a "Preliminary New Breed".

What is the personality of
The Toybob cat breed has a very cheerful nature, they are
active, very playful and retain these qualities both in young and adulthood.
They have very developed intelligence, are very attached to people, and love
to follow them from room to room regardless of whether you are going to play
with your pet. Don't be surprised if he follows you when you're going to work
or do laundry, for example.
They love to observe what is happening around them, especially
sitting on a cabinet or on another high point. If you live in a private house,
do not doubt that your pet will climb trees and spend time in the garden.
Toybob constantly cheers up their owner's thanks to funny
naughtiness and funny antics, which, however, are never excessive or
aggressively harmful. The Toybob breed has a docile and positive character and
does not create special problems, because it is recommended, including for
those who have never had cats or other pets.
Children are perceived well, especially if the child knows
how to handle the cat, and plays with it carefully. Toybobs do not like to be
