History/Profile of Ragamuffin cat
There is such a breed of cat, ragdoll, which means rag
doll. So, ragamuffin is like a side branch of this breed, and the breeding was
managed by Anne Baker - the breeder who created the Ragdoll breed. Ragamuffin
differs significantly from ragdoll in the first place, in its size, since it is
significantly larger. To do this, the crossing was made with Turkish
angoras, Burmese cats, Himalayans, Persians, and domestic
long-haired cats.
This is a relatively new breed that is not widely
distributed in the world, and therefore, in Ukraine, the cat ragamuffin is
rare. They are in many ways similar to their counterparts, ragdolls, however,
still have significant differences. However, since the breed is relatively new,
not all feline associations recognize it. Among those who give their
recognition to cats is ragamuffin, the American Cat Fanciers Association, the
Cat Fanciers Federation, the United Cat Organization, and the Cat Lovers
Association it recognized the breed in February 2011.
