Oregon Rex
history/profile of Oregon Rex Cat
The breed of Oregon rex cats originated from a spontaneous
mutation that was observed in Oregon in 1955. Actually, the name is directly
related to the place of origin of the breed. The difference between the first
kitten of this breed and its brethren from the same omen was in the
non-standard texture of the wool.
Curly cats in those years were gaining popularity, and from
England at about the same time was brought Cornish Rex also having a
similar wool structure. Subsequently, the Oregon Rex mingled with Cornish
Rex and Devon Rex, and today it is believed that the breed of Cats
Oregon-Rex in its pure form no longer exists.
The last purebred Oregon Rex cat is said to have died in
1972, in America. Accordingly, within the framework of modern conditions, it is
impossible to consider this breed as real existing in its pure form, however,
it can be told what it was at the time of appearance.

description
Despite the fact that today these cats in their pure form are
no longer found, their characteristics are manifested in other breeds with
curly hair, such as Devon Rex and Cornish Rex. It can be said
that these two breeds would not have such internal qualities and appearance
today, if not for the Oregon Rex. By the way - this cat was hypoallergenic,
despite the presence of wool.
Oregon-rex had small sizes, medium-length paws, and a thin
tail. The muzzle is wedge-shaped, expressive. The wool of these cats could be
almost any color.
personality
They were affectionate cats, who were said to be very
people-oriented, and tried to spend as much time with their family members as
possible, and did not tolerate loneliness very well. They loved different kinds
of activity, loved to play with adults and children, loved attention, but they
we're ready to give their affection to a loved one.
Despite the positive features, there were also negative.
There is information that the Oregon Rex cat could sometimes express an
arrogant attitude, have a propensity for self-affirmation, and sometimes be
naughty. Although, these cats cannot be called stupid, and it is safe to say
that she showed disobedience not because of a misunderstanding of the words of
the owner, but simply because of internal stubbornness. But still, kindness and
affection in these pets are incomparably more.
They were well-received children, primarily because they saw
them as companions for games. Of course, if such a child knew how to behave
with a cat. But often these cats could not get along with the child, simply
because of child obsession and sloppy treatment of the animal. The Oregon Rex
breed was not devoid of hunting instincts. In relationships with other pets
loved to dominate.
Common diseases
Little is known about this, as in the middle of the 20th
century it was impossible to conduct deep genetic research, like modern ones.
However, it is known that in general, these pets had quite good health and
normal immunity.
