History/Profile of Brazilian cat
The Brazilian short-haired cat does not belong to
artificially bred or some special breeds. In fact, it can be found on the
streets of cities in Brazil, where it feels great hiding from the hot sun in
the cool shade. All breeders and specialists agree that this breed belongs to
the ancient, and dates back at least 500 years.
It is believed that cats appeared in Brazil from
interbreeding British shorthaired brought with them by English sailors,
and local cats, wild and domesticated, who at that time inhabited the
territory. English sailors, like any other sailors in the history of mankind,
were afraid of rodents who were born in the holds and ate food supplies, and to
protect against rodents took in the swimming of cats.
Paulo Samuel Rushi, founder of the Cat Federation in Brazil,
as well as the Cat Club in Rio de Janeiro, achieved the recognition of the
breed in 1998.

Brazilian Shorthair Personality
These are unusually affectionate and loving animals, which
keep, as it sometimes seems, an inexhaustible reserve of vitality and energy.
At the same time, they cannot be called hyperactive - they like to lie on the
lap of the owner and relax in the fresh, soft grass when the outside is a hot
sunny day.
On the other hand, they love to hunt and have achieved this true skill. Genetics affects - for hundreds of years these animals were
needed by people precisely to fight rodents, in addition, in the pedigree, there
are wild cats. The Brazilian short-haired cat is very connected to the members
of his family, to the home life, to the place where he lives. She is very inquisitive,
has developed intelligence, likes to observe everything that happens around her, and
participates in various household processes.
By and large, she does not care what you do - a cat, and she
does not understand what a computer, work or washing. She just likes to be
around her family, her master, and feels like she's involved in some activity.
Brazilian cats are playful, and get along well with children. Normally perceive
other pets, unless it is rodents or birds. Strangers are treated calmly.
Common Diseases
The breed Brazilian short-haired has excellent health, does
not have any pronounced genetic problems. She has a stable psyche, excellent
immunity, and excellent metabolism. The only thing that can be noted is the high
sensitivity to cold, but it is relevant only in winter. And then if you're
going to walk your pet on the street.
