Description
Balinese is a very bright and friendly person with a developed intellect, curiosity, and loves various types of activity. This cat can become a full-fledged member of your family, and not just a beautiful sofa decoration. Both adults and children will always be glad to the company of such a kind and affectionate creature.
The Balinese cat breed is of medium size, with long, slender legs (hind legs are longer than the front ones) and a regular, muscular build. The ears are slightly unusual in shape – wide at the base, of medium size. The muzzle is wedge-shaped, the tail is fluffy and long. The average life expectancy is 15 years.
Personality
The character of Balinese is very similar to the character of their direct relatives Siamese cats. The Balinese cat loves its family and each of its members very much, building relationships individually. In other words, she will be happy to play with the child, and with his parents, she will most likely sleep in the same bed. She loves to be close to her owners, and, sometimes, regardless of their type of activity.
These pets are very attached to their family, and it is hard to experience separation. Therefore, if you go to rest, the cat will need to be taken with you. We can say about these animals that they are a strong personality since they are absolutely not shy about expressing their needs and emotions, including through their voice. They are active, love to play various games, they can be trained to walk on a leash and they are immensely happy if they have a cat’s house with various ladders and transitions. The Balinese cat breed needs activity and loves when the owners play with them.
Despite the fact that they are prone to strong affection, if during the day no one is at home, they can survive this since such things are invested in everyday life (when you come home, be sure to pay attention to the cat – this is important). But if the absence is too long, for several days or even weeks, the animal will suffer.
They love to be spoken to during the day and can answer you with their melodious voice. If you get another cat, Balinese will be only happy – he normally perceives other pets, unless he sees them as prey, but this applies more likely to birds, fish, or rodents. Guests of the house and strangers are treated normally, with friendliness.
Common Diseases
A Balinese cat can have a variety of physical and mental health problems. These include:
- amyloidosis;
- bronchial asthma;
- congenital heart defects such as aortic stenosis;
- lymphoma;
- strabismus;
- gastrointestinal diseases – megaesophagus;
- hyperesthesia syndrome – a neurological problem;

How to take Care of Balinese Cats.
This is a long-haired cat, which means that you need to comb it out at least 1 time per week, and preferably 2 times. Be sure to brush your teeth at least 3 times a week, and do not forget to keep your eyes and ears clean. You can bathe your pet once every 2-3 months, trim the nails every 10 days.
